Horace S. Lipscomb was the eighth president. He attended Vanderbilt University, Harvard University, and Cornell University. Milestones during his tenure as president include the first school paper Haviland Acts, first Backlog (1922), the first Founder’s Day Contest, and the library books were cataloged by the Dewey Decimal classification system.
